Cedarville Pirates Way Bridge

Project Description

The Pirates Way Bridge Project in Cedarville, Arkansas replaced the existing bridge over Webber Creek. The existing bridge only accommodated single lane traffic and had fallen into a state of disrepair after performing beyond its service life. Both of these issues resulted in traffic safety concerns for the public. The improvement project consisted of demolishing the existing bridge and constructing a new bridge with cast-in-place concrete abutments and a 31-foot span precast concrete bridge deck. Hawkins-Weir Engineers provided funding assistance, project design, construction observation, and construction management services for the project. Project funding consisted of 50% grant funds as administered by the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management’s Hazard Mitigation Program, and 50% local funds provided by Crawford County, Arkansas.
