The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Library was constructed to replace their existing library that was built in 1987. The expansion allowed for a 75% increase in collection size, offers computer seating for 214 students, and classrooms with a seating capacity of 264 students. Private and small group study rooms are located on both floors and a presentation classroom for 100 students is located on the first floor.
MAHG Architecture, Inc. of Fort Smith, Arkansas, was selected as the Project Architect, and Hawkins-Weir Engineers served as a subconsultant responsible for surveying and site/civil improvements. These improvements included water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure relocations.
