Donald W. Reynolds Poteau Events Center

Project Description

Through a grant received from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, the City of Poteau, Oklahoma built the Poteau Events Center. The new 37,000 square foot events center, which is rated for an occupancy of over 3,000 people, was completed and opened for business in Fall 2011.

The City of Poteau selected MAHG Architecture of Fort Smith, Arkansas as the lead consultant. Hawkins-Weir was hired as a Subconsultant to MAHG with responsibilities for the site/civil design services and construction management. The Site/Civil design for the approximately $6.5-million dollar project included stormwater collection and detention, grading design, parking lot layout & pavement design, water & sewer utility design, and street design of Reynolds and Grady Avenues.
