The Morrison Elementary School is an expansion project for the Fort Smith School District to accommodate 350 students in Grades K – 6. The project included the construction of new classrooms, new dining room with stage, chair storage, bathroom, new entrance lobby, and a new administrative suite. It also renovated and enlarged the kitchen, the existing dining room, and an existing multi-purpose room. Hawkins-Weir provided professional services associated with a full campus boundary survey and overall site/civil design. The civil engineering services included the earthwork/grading design and stormwater collection system improvements. Also included in the design is reconstruction of the cafeteria service drive and fire lane, new student drive through drop off lanes, parking facilities, and relocation of onsite sanitary sewer lines.
