As part of a strategic master plan, Mercy pledged to invest over $192 million in the Fort Smith, Arkansas metro area. A significant portion of this investment is in Mercy clinic projects like the Cliff Drive Clinic, which opened for business in Summer of 2014. The project consists of a 13,600-square foot one-story outpatient clinic located on a 4-acre site at the intersection of Cliff Drive and Old Greenwood Road.
awkins-Weir Engineers, in conjunction with Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects, designed the facility and oversaw the construction performed by Nabholtz Construction. In the preliminary planning phase, Hawkins-Weir handled the ALTA boundary survey, subdivision platting, preparation of the development plan, representing variance request application through the City of Fort Smith, preparation of a traffic study, and site investigation report. The design services phase included coordination of on-site and off-site utilities, grading and drainage designs, storm water detention and water quality designs, as well as parking lot layout and pavement design.
The approximate overall construction cost of the project was $5-million and was completed on schedule and within budget.
